Philadelphia nurse Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, who was abducted has been found alive Wednesday in Maryland and her alleged captor-Delvin Barnes taken into custody. Surveillance video showing Freeland-Gaither being snatched off the street and pushed into a waiting car in the city’s Germantown neighborhood. The abduction occurred Sunday around 9:40 p.m. as the victim walked along a well-lit street. [USA TODAY]


Chinese officials and businesspeople used a state trip in March 2013 by President Xi Jinping and other high-levels to smuggle ivory out of Tanzania. China is the world’s largest importer of smuggled tusks, and Tanzania is the largest source of poached ivory, the London-based Environmental Investigation Agency said. [BBC]
