Allow me to formally introduce myself to you. I’m Bolaji and I am the founder of SociaLifeChicago. I will be doing this monthly, kinda like a Letter from the Editor of sorts but think of it more as a letter from an editor entrepreneur. This will give me the opportunity to share a bit about myself and what we have in store for you that month.
It seems like it was just last week we were all wishing each other a happy new year, making resolutions and goals and looking forward to all the great things 2013 has in store. I can hardly believe we’ve breezed through the first 5 months of the year and here we are in June. Most of you, especially Chicagoans, are anxiously awaiting consistent summer weather and all the fun that comes with it like rooftop dining & parties, Ravinia outings, beach getaways, Lake Bluff fourth of July parade, Navy Pier fireworks and so much more. I decided to shed some winter weight after the realization that my favorite dress didn’t fit, story of my life, and will share that journey with you in coming days. June is exciting in the world of art here in Chicago because The Art Institute of Chicago will be the final destination of a really great exhibit-Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity-that has already traveled to Paris and New York(June 26-. Starving Artist 2013, the experiential artist and culinary event which is Chicago Artist’s Coalition annual benefit will take place June 29. The Siskel film Center will honor Gwyneth Paltrow June 15 with the Renaissance . The entrepreneur landscape in Chicago is continuously growing and I am happy to be a part of the space. I am always meeting new and established entrepreneurs and I’m constantly gainings inspiration from them. Urbanbuddy which is a startup by two entrepreneurs Pete Stam and Paul Brogna is one I am excited to see grow.
Lastly in the coming weeks we will be asking you for your help on what you would like to see and help make SociaLifeChicago better and serve your needs.
We are grateful for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you on the scene. What are you excited for this month?
