Many of you know Giuliana Rancic as E! News anchor, host of E! Fashion Police and star of the Style Network’s Giuiliana and Bill, but did you know she’s a breast cancer survivor? In 2011, Giuliana went through a public battle with an early stage breast cancer diagnosis, double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. During that challenging time, she relied heavily on the love and support of her husband of 5 years, Bill Rancic, family, close friends, colleagues, fans around the world, and Bright Pink Founder, Lindsay Avner. However, it was the days of having her hair and make-up done at E!, putting on a gorgeous designer gown to interview celebrities on the red carpet, or receiving the full Hollywood treatment that helped her feel more like a princess and less like a patient. She realized that her own special form of “fab therapy” helped take her mind off her breast cancer battle and remain optimistic, rather than continuously focusing on her illness.
Now Giuliana is paying it forward because many patients battling cancer don’t get the opportunity to put on a designer gown or a hair and makeup squad to help them look glamourous. Giuliana Rancic, is once again partnering with Bright Pink to launch: Fab-U-Wish. Fab-U-Wish, provides women currently undergoing treatment for breast and ovarian cancer with the opportunity to spend a day feeling “fabulous” by living out one of their wildest wishes or dreams.
Applying for a Fab-U-Wish is simple. Women who are currently undergoing treatment for breast and ovarian cancer or who have undergone treatment within the past 12 months can submit a 150-word essay or a two-minute video explaining their wish and how this one-of-a-kind indulgence would help bring some brightness to them during treatment. Giuliana and Bright Pink will work together to review applications and select the most inspiring, creative, awesome, fabulous, and bright wishes to be granted each year.
