WHAT: DUVEL BEER TASTING AT PARIS CLUB
Where: Paris Club
How much:FREE NO RSVP
Time: 5-9pm
Why: Not sure you need a reason to attend a free beer tasting and nosh from Paris Club but if you do it’s free beer on a Monday.

WHAT: SXSW CHICAGO PREGAME PARTY
Where:Double Door 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave
How much: $5 suggested donation
Time: 5:30pm-9pm
Why: Now that Chicago’s getting more exposure as a tech city it’s only right to host pregame before all the techie interactive and music action that’s sure to go down at SXSW in Austin. It’s free but with a $5 suggested donation. Complimentary Sailor Jerry Rum cocktails from 6-8pm as well as tastes of Austin,TX SXSW-inspired bites created by members of Manbque. social media contests, raffles, enjoy live music from Ballroom Boxer, Aly Jados. Do note there’s complimentary sponsored drinks as well as cash bar. When done there head down the block to Rodan for a nightcap.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 27

WHAT: BIG SHOULDERS AUXILIARY BOARD HAPPY HOUR MIXER

Why: If you’re looking to get involved with a non-profit, come out and meet the members of Big Shoulders auxiliary board. Full disclosure I am a member of this org and truly think they are a fantastic altruistic fun bunch. Some of us recently(this past weekend) gave back by helping paint a catholic school in Bronzeville. Come out and have a drink!

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 28

WHAT: One Million Degrees Suited for Success
Where: Brooks Brothers in The Rookery, 209 S. LaSalle Street Chicago
How much: Complimentary
Time:5-8pm
Why: An organization dedicated to providing quality, interview-worthy clothing and footwear to low-income, highly motivated community college students who will soon be entering the professional world, what’s not to support. Best of all you will enjoy 15% savings on Brooks Brothers purchases made during the event, WIN-WIN and there will be dashing dressed ladies and gents

FRIDAY MARCH 1

WHAT:FIRST FRIDAYS AT MCA
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago
How much:$10 members; $14 advance $18 day of
Why: This is a favorite monthly event that combines 3 of our favorite things: Art, cute singles, complimentary nosh(bring $$ for cash bar).  The current exhibit showing is Destroy the Picture: Painting the Void, 1949–1962

WHAT: UCCRF 1st ANNUAL GATSBY GALA
Where: Room 1520 1520 W. Fulton Street Chicago 60607
How much: $95 CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS
Why: This organization has been around for a while raising money for U of C’s Cancer Research Foundation. If you can’t attend you can still donate. This is their first “Gatsby” gala and anything Gatsby we’re in! Cocktail attire is a must… Gatsby’s classic flair is strongly encouraged! after the gala the afterparty rages on at Cuvee, not a bad way to spend a Friday evening.
